Primo Tedesco performs actions of social responsibility in municipalities where it has direct contact, carrying out initiatives in the fields of health, social assistance, technical and environmental education. These activities help reduce social inequality.

Health

Since 2004, the company has been running a program of dental service, in agreement with ULBRA (Luthern University of Brazil - Canoas) directed to the community of Bairro Rio Branco, in the town of Canoas. The program consists of completely free dental consultations for more than 100 needy families registered in CONSECOM (Community Council of Bairro Rio Branco). At the plant in Canoas, the company has lent its modern installations so that ULBRA can attend the community with final-year students from its Course of Odontology, supervised by teachers of the subject.

Social Assistance

The company donates paper and corrugated sheets to nurseries, schools, NGO's in the towns where it is operating. It also gives financial support to nurseries and homes for the elderly.

Environmental and Technical Education

Since 2005, the company has promoted the Tedesco Project of Environmental Education in the town of Caçador/SC. The project always takes place during World Environment Week and is aimed at building ecological awareness among the school community. Participants of the project attend lectures on the environment, hike around a lake and develop activities relating to environmental preservation and sustainable development. This activity is run with the support of the Environmental Military Police, the Fire Brigade and students from the Course of Environmental Engineering. Company employees also take part in this event, and lectures on the topic of environment are given at the company's head offices. In the period of 2005 to 2008, 11 schools have participated in the project, with a total of 700 school students, as well as undergraduates from the Courses of Environmental Engineering and Visual Arts from UNC/Caçador and Organs which have supported various editions of the event.

The company runs activities in conjunction with the area of health of UFRGS (Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul), in which final-year students from the nursing course visit the Canoas Plant to get to know "in loco" the activities run by the company in the field of occupational medicine and safety. A presentation is given to the participants of all the company's activities and afterwards, they spend the day with the people responsible for the sector. A similar activity is run with students of design from CEFET (Federal Center of Technology), associated with UFPEL (Federal University of Pelotas), who visit the company to get to know everything to do with product development.

Volunteer work

The company performs volunteer work and encourages its employees to take part. Winter clothing campaigns are held to donate clothing to needy communities, Easter campaigns to donate eggs, Christmas campaigns to donate presents and food for Xmas dinners and campaigns to donate school materials. Campaigns are also run to donate blood, where the company loans the transportation. The company keeps a register of its donations to hospitals, clinics and haemocenters in the regions of its plants.
