Responsibilities: Forests

Sustainable growth through the appreciation of renewable resources is one of the basic premises of Primo Tedesco's business. To this end, the purpose of its forest reserves is to produce raw material for its production process, and also to protect the environment by permanently preserving native woodland areas.

The company produces pine seedlings for planting later in designated areas. The various stages of planting begin in the nursery, with the acquisition of second-generation clonal pine seeds of the taeda species, and seedling preparation. In order to improve the quality and yield of its forests, the company has run studies in seedling use and soil preparation, while respecting the sustainable management of both reforestation and the ecosystem. Large areas of plantations are located in Caçador/SC which ensure quick and total supply of its industrial plant.

Primo Tedesco practices sustainable management in its forests in order to guarantee their conservation, in the ample sense of the word, and thus it generates both direct and indirect benefits for all of society. Sustainable management of forests is considered essential to preserve the environment, since this activity has resulted in preserving the native forest, and also allowed the growth rate of the remaining trees to increase, and reduced the natural mortality rate of forests.
